Basic RiderCourse
- Learn to ride with hands-on training!
- Earn your Maine motorcycle license in a weekend if you pass!
- Build your confidence
- Small training motorcycles provided
- Many training locations through-out Maine
Course Requirements: Participants must be at least 16 years old. Parental permission and proof of driver-ed completion is required for those under 18. Students must attend all sessions and complete all requirements set forth by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) in order to obtain a completion card. Successful completion of the written test and the skill evaluation qualifies the beginner student for a waiver of the State road test. You must have the ability to balance a bicycle. For the protection of all concerned, we reserve the right to suspend anyone from riding activities if, in our opinion, they can not control a motorcycle.
Dress Requirements: A DOT or Snell approved helmet, eye protection (goggles, glasses, or a helmet face shield),a long sleeved shirt or jacket, long pants of sturdy material, over-the-ankle footwear, full-fingered gloves (leather boots and gloves are preferred). Rain gear (no ponchos) is strongly recommended.
Experienced RiderCourse
- Improve Braking, Cornering, Swerving
- Learn strategies for avoiding road hazards
- Learn about traction management
- One day class using your own motorcycle
Course Requirements: Participants must be at least 16 and are required by Maine law to have had a motorcycle endorsement on their license for at least 3 months. Participant-owned motorcycles used in the ERC must be street-legal (i.e. registered, inspected, and insured) and will be subject to a safety check before the riding exercises. For the protection of all concerned, we reserve the right to suspend anyone from riding activities if, in our opinion, they can not control a motorcycle.
